We are pleased to provide the following information regarding Rockaway Animal Clinic’s “home away from home” boarding options for a worry-free time away for you.

While you are away, you can feel confident that all of your pet’s needs will be attended to. Whether it is special services you ask for such as updating vaccinations, physical exam, dental services, grooming services or any other veterinary care we provide OR the value of having veterinarians right there in case there are medical situations that arise needing veterinary care. It is a requirement that your pet must have been examined within the past year by our doctors or it must have an appointment at the time of boarding.

Dogs also MUST HAVE proof of:

• DHPP (Distemper vaccine) within one year
• Parasite Free (negative fecal sample within the last year and a negative Heartworm Test within the last year
• Rabies must be current (1 or 3 year)
• Coughguard Vaccine (CGV) within a year but we recommend CGV booster every six months

Cats MUST ALSO HAVE proof of:

• FVRCP (Distemper vaccine) within one year
• Parasite free (negative fecal sample within the last year)
• Rabies must be current (1 or 3 year)

The reason we require the above tests and vaccines is because we want to keep our hospital and kennel as free from disease as we can so we can protect all of our special friends.

Please call as far in advance as you can to assure a place for your pet! Our options are as follows:

Econo Boarding – Cost effective, comfortable boarding that includes 1 feeding time per day and a Technician exam at time of check in.

VIP Boarding - More than the basics for your Very Important Pet that includes two feedings per day, 3 leash walks, a bath after a 4 days (unless you request otherwise), exercise in an outdoor run area (weather permitting) and a technician exam at the time of arrival.

Platinum and Puppy Boarding – is REQUIRED for our Senior pets (10+ years) and our puppies or kittens up to 1 year old.
